The Delaware River City Corporation (DRCC) is one of the leaders in transforming the Tidal Trail in Philadelphia into a world-class urban riverfront. In addition to environmental restoration and public programming along the river in Northeastern Philadelphia, DRCC is building the long section of the Delaware River Trail that will connect Center City to Bucks County.
On June 9, DRCC brok eground on the K&T Trail Phase 1 at Lardner’s Point Park. This 1.1 mile trail section will connect the Frankford Boat Launch to Magee Avenue.
Upon completion of this phase in 2017, the second phase of K&T Trail construction will begin. The second phase will add another mile of trail to connect Magee Avenue to Princeton Avenue.
The Delaware River Trail is part of the Circuit Trails, one of the largest trail networks in the country. When complete, the Circuit will include 750 miles of trails in total, crossing the nine-county region of Southeastern Pennsylvania and South New Jersey.
