Liberty Sailing Club Open House
Join us for a free sail and meet some of our members. Begin your open house tour at our club house. Directions are listed below. Contact us if you can’t make any of these dates. We can usually make arrangements to accomodate guests during the months of May through August. What To Expect When you arrive at our club house you will be greeted by one of our volunteers who will provide you with membership information and can answer any questions you may have. Next, one of our members will accompany you to our dock, just a brief walk from our club house, where you will go aboard one of our J/27s for a trial sail. We usually accommodate five or six on a boat including an experienced skipper and crew member from our club. A typical open house sail on the Delaware River will last thirty to forty-five minutes. Your family or friends may accompany you during an open house visit. They are welcome to wait for you in our clubhouse while you go for a sail. Sorry, but children cannot be left unattended at our facilities. You don’t need any prior experience or equipment during an open house sail. Please keep in mind that sailing is an active sport so you will want to dress appropriately including footwear with a non marking sole. We sail rain or shine, if the weather looks wet, bring your rain gear.

| Liberty Sailing Club is a not for profit organization owned and operated by its members. Because there is no paid staff, the club relies entirely on the volunteer efforts of its membership to manage all club operations, including maintenance on our J/27 fleet. Liberty Sailing Club is open to all sailors – from beginners to experts. Located on the Delaware River in Center City, Philadelphia, the club has a fleet of J/27s – sloop rigged sailboats designed for performance sailing. Members can sail as much as they like. Some choose to race, some to cruise, and some to race and cruise. What you do and how often is up to you! | |
